On June 26, 2022, around 11:19 PM, Officer Christopher Brown in Oklahoma, responded to a dispute between two women at Walmart. Upon arrival, the officer found two females arguing. While trying to handle the situation, one woman, Annabelle Albertson, refused to cooperate and was subsequently arrested. The other, Hali Lanke, was also detained for public intoxication.
Despite being handcuffed, Albertson managed to free one of her hands, leading to an altercation as officers tried to restrain her. Amidst the chaos, Lanke attempted to escape the patrol car but was unsuccessful.
Both women, under the legal drinking age of 21, had Bud Light Seltzer beers in their possession. Lanke's vehicle was found unregistered and unsecured and thus impounded. Both Albertson and Lanke were transported to the Detention Center and charged with public intoxication, possession of low-point beer as minors, and resisting a police officer.
