⭐️The U.K.’s new prime minister and his wife, the daughter of an Indian tech billionaire, have a collective net worth higher than the personal fortune of King Charles III.
⭐️Born in Southampton to parents of Indian descent who emigrated from East Africa, Sunak attended the exclusive Winchester College boarding school and waited tables at an Indian restaurant during summer breaks.
⭐️He then studied politics, philosophy and economics at Oxford University, before embarking on a three-year stint at Goldman Sachs. After earning an MBA from Stanford in 2006, he then became a partner at London-based hedge fund The Children’s Investment Fund (TCIF), founded and run by billionaire Chris Hohn.
⭐️Sunak left TCIF in 2009 to join Santa Monica-based Theleme Partners, a fund set up by former TCIF cofounder Patrick Degorce. Sunak owned less than 5% of the firm, which had $2.2 billion in assets under management according to the last available disclosure form filed in February 2013.
⭐️He left Theleme in 2013 to launch Catamaran Ventures UK with his wife, Akshata.
