Senator Rips Trump Co-Defendant Lawyer About Fani Willis Scandal: ‘This Makes Absolutely No Sense’

During a Georgia Senate hearing, Senator Harold Jones II questioned the lawyer for former president Donald Trump’s co-defendant in the election tampering case about the relationship between Fani Willis and Nathan Wade. “What you’re describing is not a conflict,” Jones said to Ashley Merchant. “This makes absolutely no sense, this is what we’re dealing with?” Merchant and several other lawyers representing Trump’s co-defendants want Willis thrown off the alleged election tampering case because she dated the special prosecutor hired to help try the case.
