Nearly one year later, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is trying again to prosecute Karen Read for the death of John O'Keefe.

Karen Read is accused of murdering her boyfriend and Boston Police Officer, John O’Keefe, on January 29, 2022. Prosecutors allege that Reed struck O’Keefe with her vehicle during a snowstorm and left O’Keefe to die from his injuries and exposure to the cold weather.
Reed has been charged with Second-Degree Murder, Manslaughter, and Leaving the Scene Where of a DUI Fatality.
