Divorce Attorney Valerie Houghton, who doubles as an MFT to do ghostwriting and custody consulting for controversial divorce attorney Bradford Baugh, has been indicted by the Santa Clara County District Attorney for white collar crimes that include elder financial abuse. Over the past 20 years she has used her close personal, social and professional ties with James Towery, Bradford Baugh, Liz Goodley and Leah Amini to abuse the legal process in divorce and custody cases where she profited and unjustly enriched herself and her family.
While living in Los Gatos, the Houghton's are charged with buying fancy cars, dinning in exclusive wine clubs and living beyond their means with money stolen from elderly citizens. Houghton and her husband are even charged with funding their daughter' college education with stolen money. This ambush elevator interview occurred following a criminal hearing where Valerie's private lawyer , Chuck Smith, and the IDO lawyer who represented Valerie's husband Terry, discussed details of the case including how to get DDA Admir Alem to allow them to change evidence. Houghton specifically said $960,000 was missing and wanted her lawyers to try to reduce that number in the criminal case. Terry Houghton was heard telling his taxpaid lawyer he was fearful of certain witnesses being found and discussed ways to conceal potential witnesses from the District Attorney.
The conversation happened in a public corridor outside the criminal courtroom, where a media request had been made.
In this elevator interview Chuck Smith attempts to blame his sloppy legal work on members of the pubic for " eavesdropping". Santa Clara County taxpayers have wasted money in this sham of a trial, where Houghton reportedly has protection with Jeff Rosen due to her CLOSE personal, professional and social relationship with James Towery, a Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge, and former Chief Trial Counsel of the State Bar of California.
