I'm tired of watching people fumble into a DUI. Let me show you how to avoid that during the first two minutes of a traffic stop. I’m John Guidry, a criminal defense attorney in Central Florida, 31+ years and counting.

License, Registration, Insurance – All Together
Don’t dig through your glovebox or purse while the cop’s shining a flashlight in your face. Have them clipped together (maybe above your visor or in a center console holder). No fumbling, no “signs of impairment.” Bam, you’re already winning.

Don’t Confess to Anything
After that, the officer might ask, “Do you know why I pulled you over?” Resist the urge to say, “Yeah, I was going a little fast,” or “I might’ve been swerving.” That’s practically an admission of guilt. Don’t guess. Politely say, “No, officer,” and let them explain.

Just doing those two things will help save yourself a bunch of trouble. They probably won't investigate further if they can’t find reasons to suspect you of DUI. If you ever need serious help here in Central Florida, I’ve got your back—call my office. Until then, like, subscribe, or click any new “support” button so more folks learn these life-saving tips.
