According to a research done in 2019 it was estimated that the average pay for a lawyer was $122,960. The lowest paid 25% in this category made $80,950 while the highest paid 25% made $186,350.
When it comes to metropolitan areas with the highest pay, San Jose California topped the list with an average salary of $218,420 followed by San Francisco California with $188,910. The best paying state was the District of Colombia with an average salary of $192,180 followed with California and New York at $173, 970 and $168,780 respectively.
You also need to know that there is a lot of disparity as to the amounts different lawyers earn. Just like every other field has specialties so do lawyers.
