Choosing a divorce attorney can be overwhelming and even intimidating, since it’s the first step towards your new chapter. Make sure you know what to look for and what to avoid. Make sure you find an attorney that is focused on your goals, communicates well, focuses their practice in the area in which you seek, and can remain professional throughout the adversarial process. Their ego should not rise above your goals.
Lastly, if they intend on going to war in each of their cases, this may translate to their primary goal being to liquidate their clients’ retainer fees as opposed to actually finalizing or settling the case. Many cases are eligible for a collaborative approach- as opposed to a litigious one. Interview your attorney.
